Yesterday, NTB announced that the new NTB Daytime (the move of "Wake Up, America" to an hour earlier -- and thus moving "NTB News in the Morning" to an earlier time, too -- in addition to new co-hosts on both shows, and the addition of a new NTB series "Polarized America" to the 1PM timeslot previously given to the affiliates) would begin on July 5th.
That is still going to happen, but the network has changed plans for "Polarized America". According to sources close to the network, NTB will be giving the affiliates the timeslot on that Tuesday, and will instead premiere "Polarized America" in primetime in the hope of giving it a big premiere in daytime the day after, Wednesday, July 6th.
That particular episode will feature the panel of Lawrence O'Donnell, Bill O'Reilly, Chris Matthews, and Ann Coulter. The show will air live, if reports are correct, in the 10PM timeslot after a new episode of "Battle of the Bands". The same panel will return with a continuation of the two-episode arc the next day. The daytime episodes will also be aired live, and will be hosted by former NTB Evening News anchor Shepherd Smith.
With the Republican field finally gaining traction, there will likely be a lot of mudslinging between the liberal O'Donnell & Matthews and the conservative O'Reilly and Coulter. Topics during the premiere will include showing the latest polls in the GOP field, who -- if any -- will be able to beat Obama in 2012, the issues that the GOP needs to focus on in order to get a shot at Obama, and more. The broadcast will also take place just four days before the Las Vegas primary debate.
