As of July 1, 2011, less than a few months after NTB introduced hosts on "NTB News in the Morning", the network is introducing new hosts for some of its existing shows, shifting timeslots of other shows, and introducing a new, exciting twist to a news show.
First, the network has announced that "Wake Up, America" will be shifted from 7AM EST timeslot to 6AM as a lead-in to "NTB News in the Morning". Joe Scarborough will remain on the series and will be joined by his new co-host, Richelle Carey.
"NTB News in the Morning" is expanding to four-hours and will also be moving up an hour to 7AM EST. In addition, all of the hosts on the series, both weekday and weekend, have been scrapped in favor of a new, younger perspective. After announcing that John Stossel would take over the series, the network and Stossel have amicably agreed to end his contract which was ongoing from his primetime series "What If?" a few years back.
In place of Stossel, and fitting with the brand's new younger perspective, Thomas Roberts, Mika Brzezinski, and Robin Meade will take over the broadcast during the week.
Weekend editions will have anchors Richard Lui, Campbell Brown, and Virginia Cha.
11:00-1:00 will still include the cheap, effective line-up of "Power of 10" and "The All-New Password"
At 1:00, which previously was given to the affiliates, NTB News will be introducing a new, gritty, controversial, and much talked about new series that will be effectively called "Polarized America," where both popular household names on both the left and the right wings of the political spectrum will collide in a debate format to debate the popular issues, which is sure to bring in some eyeballs as it launches heading into the 2012 election. Names such as Bill O'Reilly, Lawrence O'Donnell, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Greta Van Susteren, and other polarizing figures will debate in a roundtable-style discussion.
After months of controversy and being replaced by Bob Costas, Shepard Smith will be named as moderator and host of the series.
The rest of the line-up will remain as before.
