Bewitched, More Patience and One Crime set end dates
Three of EBN's longest running series will say goodbye this season after many seasons at primetime favorites. Bewitched, which has aired for 6 seasons Monday at 8, the central focus of EBN's comedy lineup, will end this season. The network did not renew the contracts of Sarah Michelle Ghellar and Eric Mabius, the shows two stars, feeling that the show should end while it's on top. All the actors contracts lasted through season 6, and the showrunner and network felt that six seasons was a great run. This comes as a bit of surprise as it was expected that the show which remains popular would return for season 7. The show will have 24 episodes this season instead of the usual 22 episodes. An hour long farewell special will air in May, as well as the pilot episode of the show (which will air along with the pilot episode of More, Patience)
More Patience, which is in its fifth season starring Keri Russell, will also end this season. The comedy, which revolves around a therapist and single mother trying to figure out her life, premiered in Fall 2006 airing after Bewitched. The show then aired for three seasons on Tuesdays, before moving to Wednesdays this season. The show will air 23 episodes this season.
One Crime, one of TV's longest running dramas, which tracks the investigation of one crime over the course of an entire season, proved to be innovative when it premiered six seasons ago. The show starring Donnie Wahlberg as the lead investigator has been a Sunday stalwart of EBN's schedule. The shows season will not be extended although the showrunner and stars are well-aware that this will be the shows last season.
