The well-reviewed, charming new romantic comedy I Want you to Want Me starring Academy Award Winner Rachel Bilson, Topher Grace and Mandy Moore made an impressive $23.1 million dollars this weekend, to win the final weekend of July. Bilson, who received her second Oscar nomination for Paint It Black last year, had another hit earlier this year with the fantasy romantic comedy Prince Charming. Needless to say she is one of Hollywood's hottest actresses right now. In second place was Burrard's massive Pistol 2, starring Mark Wahlberg Matt Dillon Joaquin Phoenix and Neve Campbell. The film should easily pass 450 million dollars by the end of its run. CCP's critically acclaimed The Show Must Go On starring Academy Award winner Robert Downey Jr. as Freddie Mercury came in 3rd, dropping only about 35% from last weekend. Hollywood's Letters from the Apocalypse continues to do well, as the Brad Pitt-Emily Blunt film should pass $300 million dollars by the end of its run. Hollywood's small budget Twelve Minutes, about how a gun shooting impacts the lives of several strangers, headlined by Drew Barrymore and Ryan Gosling among others, expanded to 1,000 theaters with okay results.
