At the end of the day Friday rumors were going through the network that Julie Chen has set her exit date from THIS MORNING. Rumors are saying Chen will leave on Friday November 12th with Hoda Kotb being the sole newsreader during the core two hours of the program and additional anchors joining Kotb and Roker for the third hour. If rumors around Chen are true there seems to be a question as to wether she join MOMMY MORNINGS and if so, when. Chen's contract with THIS MORNING expired in August and was renewed through mid-November so this should come as no surprise. The network is expected to make an announcement within the next week.

Saturday October 2, 2010 Chen Leaving "THIS" for "MOMMY" Co-Newsreader Julie Chen's contract expired on This Morning in August, at that point an extension was made for Chen to stay with the show through mid-November. At this point Chen and the network has worked out a decession and Julie Chen will be leaving This Morning on Friday November 12, 2010. Julie Chen has always expressed interest in the new morning talk show Mommy Mornings and after substituting multiple times last month, the show finally seemed a fit for Chen. After leaving the morning show Chen will join Mommy Mornings on Monday November 29, 2010. Chen will join the already established five hosts as an additional sixth. Due to the depurate of Chen, Hoda Kotb will be upgraded to the sole newsreader for This Morning. Kotb and Chen currently host the third hour of the program with Al Roker and Fred Roggin. Kotb, Roker, and Roggin will continue to host the hour with occasional help from Diane Sawyer, Chuck Todd or the weekend hosts of the program. While the cast and crew of This Morning are sad on the departure on Chen they wish her the best in a role she has pursued for many of the past months. Diane Sawyer said, "I know Julie Chen will have great success on her new adventures and while I will miss her each and every morning, I will watch her in her new role." Katie Couric is excitingly awaiting the newest host to join and was quoted as saying, "Julie Chen will add a new perspective to the hosting panel and I look forward to her arrival and having the chance to sit on the same couch as her" The week prior to Julie Chen's depature on This Morning will feature a look back at her long career on the show.

THE MORNING SHOW will get a new advertising push this December and Januaryy, as the network tries to boost the ratings for The Morning Show, which spent the last 5 seasons at #1 but now is in a close second. The show will focus on the slogan Spend your mornings with Brian, Meredith, Don and Lisa. The EBN president said in a statement "Brian Williams, Meredith Vieira, Don Lemon and Lisa Ling have great chemistry, and with our new advertising focus we feel that we will remain #1 at the end of this season". The network will also be advertising Mornings with Tim & Aisha, which took a ratings hit this season.
