What are EBN's main priorities for midseason?
We're very excited about the new series we have launching during midseason as well as the shows that will be returning. Supreme Courtships is one of our big priorities for midseason. We feel that its mixture of legal drama, political drama and twentysomething soap will really appeal to viewers. It was our highest testing pilot. We Got Each Other will return and air after Capitol Hill. Friends & Family is also returning and it will definitely be a big priority for us.
Is it true that both Criminals and Second Time Around are cancelled?
No, only partly true. Criminals is still in contention for next season, and could have a limited run if it can keep costs down. We feel that creatively it has been revived. But Second Time Around will be coming to an end. After three seasons we feel the drama, about an actress who returns to Hollywood after a 10 year hiatus, has run its course. The cast and crew were given a warning, and there will be a proper send off. After it finishes its current run of episodes in February, it will return in May to air a final 4 episodes.
How does the network plan to send off Chris & Hallie and The End?
Chris & Hallie will air a half hour retrospective this May, followed by an hour long finale. The End will have a 2 hour finale in May. Both shows have aired for 5 seasons on the network and helped to make the network succesful.
Can we expect any of the stars to appear in new pilots?
Will Estes and Erica Durance from Chris & Hallie have both signed on to continue work with EBN. Meanwhile Teri Hatcher, Hugh Laurie and Omar Epps all could possibly have a future with us. Julianna Margulies, from Second Time Around, has already signed on to join hit freshman drama In the Court next season.
What will EBN be airing against the Olympics?
EBN will be airing many new episodes against the Olympics. The last Winter Olympics saw a sharp decline in the ratings, and we think this one will too. The 2006 Winter Olympics were constantly beat by original programming, and with the time difference we feel viewers would prefer to get Olympic results online and watch our programming.
Any news on summer programming?
We can tell you that the Paula Abdul reality competition Dance Nation will air, and that New England will return this Summer. The reality show The Industry which struggled last summer will return and air on Saturdays. EBN has also ordered an edgy drama titled Teenagers.
