An interesting Wednesday full of fillers and original programming. Let me start off with last night's winning network EBN. EBN killed everything in its past last night. Seperate Tracks got them off to a really good start then last night's highest rated show Screwed which had a ridiculous amount of viewers in a good way, grand demo number at 4.6 and a 7.2 HH rating is just impressive. Next up from the BIG 4 was NTB which is having a great premiere week starting with Russian Roulette. It was kind of an old skewing night but Barack helped with his huge audience. What If? was close to being a loser had it not reached over 6.5 million viewers with that very low demo. It didn't hold the lead very well either. MSTV also had an old skewing night with Captain Cook and Triangle. Both programs scored well for summer offerings. Next up was UEN which I think was the real #3 network of the evening as 3rd Class Hotel did a solid job to open the night but The Coffee Shop is a huge loser on this night. Hopeless gained off of The Coffee and it was one of the higher rated shows of last evening. Still Doing Good fits like a glove out of the hit Hopeless. Related did a solid with minor losses in each category to close the evening. It was also the second highest rated show in that low-rated 10pm hour.
The eighth battle between new networks Uniworks and UPN is starting to turn into a laugh fest as its now 6-2 in favor of UPN. UPN probably isn't in the same league anymore as Uniworks is right now. Uniworks offerings were terrible and it showed in the ratings with very light promotion on the night. The Literals was the highest program for the young network. UPN on the other hand just came out last week and it already features two programs over the 2 million viewer mark. A surprise at 8pm was how good Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better performed in the ratings with a decent demo and high amount of viewers. There's some promise for UPN's Wide World of Sports first original program. Northern California is doing very well but it did drop some from its premiere but should be able to grow back in its future airings. Solid job in the demo, high HH rating and almost 3 million viewers. Not a good start for Michaels & Leary which dropped over 2 million viewers from its lead-in and 7 points in the demo. There was not enough known about Michaels & Leary as it got 0 promotion out the network. I would also change its timeslot if I was UPN and put it with a more compatible program but I bet it gets over 2 million viewers next week.
Overall the night was very old skewing and uneventful. I suggest the networks step their game up and put their best offerings on this night b/c outside of EBN and UEN there's no competition to speak of.
