I love the box office prediction threads so I wanted to do one for TV. I don't know exactly where to put this kind of thread since it hasn't been done before but I thought here would be the perfect spot. Just let me know.
This is going to be an interesting Sunday for ratings right in the mist of the summer season. The debut of UPN is creating a lot of buzz over the internet this weekend as people are finding the station, lots of promotion and they have increased their availability across the continent.
Its going to be hard to predict the ratings for the new network because its a new network but with the availability increasing tonight and new found buzz over its originals, it might have high ratings tonight. I don't think it will be near UEN but it will definitely attract a few millions. I feel bad for the person who has to release Sunday's ratings. Everything on after 8pm in that lineup should be able to surpass 2 million viewers, only things scoring under 1-2 million viewers might be the 7pm hour. If this was real life that new Friends' spin-off Toronto's Friends would've gotten anywhere from 10-20 million viewers and on a new network like 5-8 million viewers, so that's my guess on that. MyNetworkTV launched their soaps to 2 million viewers back in September 2006 and The CW launched Top Model to 5+ million viewers in that same month. This is also the summer so its going to be hard to predict. Going to be hard to do ratings for UPN tonight.
What's also interesting tonight is NTB's all-new summer roll out with the huge start of the NFL Heat tournament and a new episode of Attempt 2 right afterwords. NTB should be #1 in the ratings tonight as there's not too much competition going on outside of that. UEN has a huge rollout tonight of finales so that boost some of their ratings.
Here's my predictions:
NTB
7:00 The NFL Heat: New York City @ Philadelphia 7.3 HH (11.4 million viewers) (4.9, 18-49 demo)
10:00 Attempt 2 6.3 (9.2 million) (3.6)
