Synopsis:
A mysterious death of a contestant on a popular game show while the show was filming gets the attention of a young dective, Freddie Mayer (Jesse McCartney). He attends a taping of an episode of the show only to be chosen as a contestant himself. He reaches final question, a feat never seen on the show. Right before he answers the final question, a shot is fired at him, only to miss he head by an inch. The audience panics, Freddie turns around only to find the host lying dead on the ground, with the stray bullet found in his heart.
The next day Freddie reaches the set early to do some snooping around, only to be captivated by the beauty of Anne Thomas (Danielle Panabaker) the daughter of the new host, Eric Thomas (Donald Sutherland).
When Freddie returns to complete filming, he expected another attempt on his life but nothing happened. He went on to win the million dollars. He cheers when he wins but when Eric looks into his eyes, he knew that Freddie had other reasons being here. After the show he confronts Freddie about why he was really here, Freddie says nothing but right before he walks off the set, he mutters "You know why.". Eric pulls out a pistol, perparing to shoot but sees Anne running towards Freddie giving him a big hug. Eric smirks and hides the gun.
Few Months Later:
Anne has a huge ring on her finger, she's browsing on the internet for a wedding dress. Eric walks into the room to congraulate his daughter on her engagement. Freddie walks into the room, Eric's happy tone turns cold and whispers a "Becareful, what you know will hurt the ones you love" and walks out the room.
Day After Wedding Day:
Its Raining, Freddie and Anne are driving home to get ready for their honeymoon. Freddie sees cars blocking the road, he stops and steps out of the car. A man wearing a suit steps out of one of the cars walks over to Freddie, before Freddie could say anything he is punched in the gut. He falls to the ground facing the direction of Anne who is soon forced into another car.
Eric steps out of of the same car, Freddie still on the ground in pain. He kicks Fredie once in the gut just to hear him scream in pain and walks back into the car and drives away.
