SATURDAY 1/07/06
Starting with EBN, they opened the fairly lackluster (typically lackluster) Saturday night with the premiere of "The Millionaire", which had a 4.8/8 in the overnights, 6.93 million viewers, and a 2.7/6 in Adults 18-49. EBN Movie of the Week, "Mean Girls" perked up to a 4.9/9 in the overnights, 6.95 million viewers and a 2.9/8 in Adults 18-49, perking up to 7.5 million in its final half-hour.
Next up was the MX. "Unsolved Mysteries" returned to TV with a 5.6/10 in the overnights, 7.46 million viewers, and a 2.1/7 in Adults 18-49. The first (and only) airing of "Mark in Miami" on Saturday took a 4.7/9 in the overnights, 6.30 million viewers, and a 3.0/9 in Adults 18-49. The debut of 9:30 laffer, "City Life" sunk to a 2.9/5 in the overnights, 3.89 million viewers and a 1.6/5 in Adults 18-49. Although it was a smart move to send Mark in Miami to Thursdays, City Life doesn't belong on any night. "Paranormal Instinct" closed with 6.3/12 in the overnights, 8.88 million viewers, and a 3.9/11 in Adults 18-49.
Next up was MSTV. The night began with "Spy Game", at a 7.0/13 in the overnights, 9.88 million viewers, and a 3.9/9 in Adults 18-49. New drama "Quantico" took a solid 6.8/13 in the overnights, 9.10 million viewers and a 3.8/12 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Briar & Graves", at a 5.8/12 in the overnights, 7.81 million viewers and a 3.2/11 in Adults 18-49. Obviously, MSTV took control of Saturday night thanks to three solid shows, but the other nets did their part also.
TNQ opened with a surprising return of "Star Search", which took a 6.0/12 in the overnights, 8.00 million viewers, and a 2.4/7 in Adults 18-49, followed by "The Price is Right: Primetime Edition", at a 5.7/12 in the overnights, 8.17 million viewers, and a 1.9/7 in Adults 18-49. "LOL" dissapointed with a 5.0/10 in the overnights, 6.73 million viewers and a 2.7/7 in Adults 18-49. Maybe its better off at late night like "MADtv" or "Saturday Night Live".
Over on Ben Whitman Television, the new day of "The Monica Lewinsky Show" took a 2.7/5 in the overnights, 3.37 million viewers, and a 1.5/5 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Divorce Stories", at a 4.6/8 in the overnights, 5.97 million viewers, and a 2.4/8 in Adults 18-49. "The Millionaire" took a 5.6/9 in the overnights, 7.64 million viewers and a 3.6/10 in Adults 18-49.
Over on Choice Network, the premiere of new reality show, "The Alaskan Adventure" opened with a solid 7.1/14 in the overnights, 9.63 million viewers and a 4.3/14 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Dreaming of Bright Lights", at a 5.4/9 in the overnights, 7.05 million viewers, and a 2.8/7 in Adults 18-49. Choice Ended with Paris Hilton's "Hostess with the Mostess", at a 5.1/10 in the overnights, 6.80 million viewers, and a 2.6/7 in Adults 18-49. Sc2004, is Hostess with the Mostess reality or scrïpted cuz it kind of seems like it could be both lol.
Over on the XYZ, "The Pulse" opened with a 3.8/8 in the overnights, 4.78 million viewers, and a 1.8/6 in Adults 18-49, followed by UFC: Primetime, at a 3.6/8 in the overnights, 4.66 million viewers and a 1.7/6 in Adults 18-49. The final half-hour of UFC: Primetime perked up to a 4.4/8 in the overnights, 5.52 million viewers from 10-10:30, while "Da Ali G Show" sunk to a lackluster 2.4/4 in the overnights, 2.85 million viewers and a 1.3/4 in Adults 18-49 at 10:30pm.
Last but not least was the V. "Sydney" opened with a 5.2/9 in the overnights, 6.98 million viewers and a 2.9/10 in Adutls 18-49, followed by "Dublin", at a 5.0/9 in the overnights, 6.70 million viewers and a 2.8/9 in Adults 18-49. Next up was TNQ. In the 7 p.m. hour was the end of an NFL Wild Card Playoff Game, with a 12.7/20 in the overnights, 19.64 million viewers, and a 7.8/21 in Adults 18-49, which probably hurt alot of the other 7pm shows. That led into the 8 p.m. premiere of "Sangre Azul", at a 7.8/15 in the overnights, 10.70 million viewers, and a 5.2/14 in Adults 18-49, which got a boost from the lead-in. At 9 p.m., new drama "The Oval Office" took a 8.0/15 in the overnights, 10.92 million viewers and a 4.5/11 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Free Soil", at a 5.7/9 in the overnights, 7.03 million viewers and a 2.7/7 in Adults 18-49, which dropped from the strong 'Oval Office'.
Then there was EBN. New dramedy "The Whole Family" took a 6.3/11 in the overnights, 8.65 million viewers and a 3.3/11 in Adults 18-49 at 7 p.m., followed by "Conspiracies", which took a solid 8.4/15 in the overnights, 10.83 million viewers and a 4.6/12 in Adults 18-49. The big story was 9 p.m.'s premiere of "One Crime", which broke out with a 9.8/18 in the overnights, 13.87 million viewers and a 5.6/15 in Adults 18-49. "Inmates" held it with a 8.9/15 in the overnights, 10.96 million viewers and a 4.5/14 in Adults 18-49.
Over on MSTV, "The Studio" opened with a 5.8/9 in the overnights, 7.27 million viewers and a 3.1/12 in Adults 18-49 at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m., "Pepper Dennis" took a 6.8/12 in the overnights, 8.95 million viewers and a 3.4/11 in Adults 18-49. "Introducing Lennie Rose" took a 6.4/11 in the overnights, 8.67 million viewers and a 3.3/11 in Adults 18-49 at 9pm, followed by "Hailey's Comet", at a 7.0/13 in the overnights, 9.30 million viewers, and a 3.7/10 in Adults 18-49.
On The XYZ, the "In Demand Movie" took a 4.1/8 in the overnights, 5.80 million viewers and a 2.6/7 in Adults 18-49 from 7-9pm, followed by comedies "Southern Hospitality" (overnight: 6.2/8; viewers: 7.61 million; A18-49: 3.0/7) and "Nothing Personal" (overnight: 5.6/8; viewers: 6.99 million; A18-49: 2.6/6). "Crusaders 1200" ended the night for XYZ with a 6.7/13 in the overnights, 8.40 million viewers and a 2.5/7 in Adults 18-49.
The V was next starting with "Sage", which took a 5.0/7 in the overnights, 6.83 million viewers and a 2.9/6 in Adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. "Gin" took a 4.8/7 in the overnights, 6.50 million viewers and a 2.5/7 in Adults 18-49 at 9pm. An interesting choice, The V took comedies in the 10pm hour with "Pudding" (overnight: 5.1/7; viewers: 6.76 million; A18-49: 2.6/8) and "Olive Oil" (overnight: 4.6/7; viewers: 6.20 million; A18-49: 2.4/6) and probably got results that the comedies would've done in the earlier hours.
Last but not least was Choice Network. At 7 p.m., "Notebooks and Nuptials" took a 6.5/9 in the overnights, 7.94 million viewers and a 3.0/8 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Family Life", at a similar 6.6/9 in the overnights, 7.96 million viewers, and a 3.1/8 in Adults 18-49, close to what EBN's The Whole Family did. Obviously family comedies/dramas were a good choice for the 7pm hour. At 8 p.m., "Shiprecked" took a solid 10.3/15 in the overnights, 14.40 million viewers and a 6.4/17 in Adults 18-49, good enough for the Top-Rated show of the night (excluding football). At 9 p.m., "Rogue Agents" took a 8.6/15 in the overnights, 11.92 million viewers and a 5.7/14 in Adults 18-49. At 10pm, "Angels & Demons" took a 8.8/15 in the overnights, 10.72 million viewers, and a 4.3/11 in Adults 18-49 at 10pm. The bad thing for Angels & Demons was the loss of interest in half-hours in overnights (9.3/15 to 8.3/15), viewers (11.42mil to 10.02mil) and adults 18

"Crimestreet LA" took a 11.5/19 in the overnights, 16.10 million viewers and a 6.5/18 in Adults 18-49. The MX's 9-11pm block is certainly a powerful two-hour block of TV.
Next up was EBN. "Breaking Point" opened with a 6.7/10 in the overnights, 8.92 million viewers and a 3.8/12 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Working Space", at a 6.6/10 in the overnights, 9.00 million viewers, and a 4.2/12 in Adults 18-49. "Carver Law" took a 12.0/17 in the overnights, 17.91 million viewers, and a 6.9/18 in Adults 18-49, building from last week's numbers by 700,000 viewers.

Week two of "I'm a Rich Kid, Get Me Out of Here" took a considerable dip in the overnights (5.0/7), but actually improved its numbers in viewers, with 8.97 million viewers, and a 4.7/13 in Adults 18-49. Some shows strong suits are just not in the overnights. Obviously reality shows strong points are in the adults 18-49 demographic.
TNQ was next. "Flubs and Snubs" took a considerable jump this week to a 4.5/7 in the overnights, 6.50 million viewers, and a 2.8/7 in Adults 18-49, up by 800,000 viewers from last week, and again growing in half-hours (6.25 million to 6.76 million). At 9 p.m., "The Lewis Black Show" took a 4.3/6 in the overnights, 6.09 million viewers and a 2.7/6 in Adults 18-49. "Westside" ended with a 9.0/13 in the overnights, 10.62 million viewers and a 4.6/12 in Adults 18-49.

Then there was TNQ. "Addicted to You" overcame the lackluster lead-in with a 5.9/10 in the overnights, 7.95 million viewers and a 3.4/8 in Adults 18-49, followed by "Spice!", at a 4.4/7 in the overnights, 5.60 million viewers and a 2.2/6 in Adults 18-49. "The Lake District" took a 10.5/17 in the overnights, 13.60 million viewers and a 6.5/17 in Adults 18-49. It looks like "The Lake District" and "Soccer Moms" are in a dead heat for 9pm first place, but if Lake District got away from Soccer Moms and moved to 10 p.m., it would probably get more audience. Soccer Moms looks to keep on growing. "War Games" took a 8.5/12 in the overnights, 11.00 million viewers and a 3.8/9 in Adults 18-49.
