TVN PICKS UP FIRST NEW SERIES TVN has picked up its first new series of the 2011-2012 television season. Secret Service, starring Mark Harmon, Thomas Gibson, Erica Durance, Lena Headey, and Sean Patrick Thomas, is already considered one of the top pilots of the new season. The drama follows the protection unit for the President of the United States in both their personal lives and professional lives. Official description: - Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A: Secret Service Uniformed Division officers provide protection for the White House Complex, the Vice President's residence, the main Treasury Building and Annex, and foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C., area. Additionally, Uniformed Division officers travel in support of presidential, vice presidential, and foreign head of state government missions. George Marshall (Mark Harmon) is the newly elected President of the United States. Under Title 18 Section 3056A, he is entitled to his own security, the Secret Service. In this new drama, we follow a small portion of the protection that is always with the President. Led by Andrew Walters (Thomas Gibson), his team of Dana Lee (Erica Durance), Grace Shepherd (Lena Headey) and Benjamin Caldwell (Sean Patrick Thomas), it is their duty to protect the President at all times. Given intel information about possible assassination attempts, they must do anything and everything to make sure Marshall does not join the likes of JFK. The Secret Service must also watch over crowds at large speaking events, where the President is seen many times. Working non-stop, the members have pushed their personal lives to the side to watch over the most important man in the country, the President of the United States. In other news, TVN has passed on drama Fighting Fires and comedy Growing Closer. Both remain an option for the 2012-2013 television season, but will not be seen within the next year.

Thanks EBN! In other news... TVN has signed a two year contract with news anchors Natalie Morales, Christi Paul, and Susan Hendricks. No word yet on what shows the three will join. *I looked around and I don't believe anyone has these three, but if I'm wrong, let me know!
